What The Fuck Do I Keep Saying About Idaho?
Let's revisit my commentary on the most militant of the militias home base.
Ok, start with the podcast piece:
Y’all know I get on a tear about the crazy ass shit that happens in Idaho. They’re full of homesteading, anti-vaxxing, “religious outfits” who have reminded me I’m not welcome to visit their compound, er, residence. Here I am talking about Lori Vallow, and some of the cultish happenings out that way.
I love the American west. I do. I talk about my desire to run away to Montana anytime I bring up Zombie Apocolypse plans. I don’t, however, dig 94% of what takes place out in Idaho. They grow potatoes and weird nationalist groups with tendencies that frighten the shit out of me.
However, I ran across this today, and it really colored a little more of my perception. I think I might do the same with y’all. I encourage you to read and think on this for a minute. It’s your weirdo fodder for today.
Yesterday, Matt Lillywhite published “How to Get Away with Murder in Yellowstone National Park. The intro to the story reads:
“The “Zone of Death” is a 50-square-mile region of Idaho within Yellowstone National Park where a felon can theoretically evade prosecution for crimes, up to and including murder. The reason? There’s a massive legal loophole in the Constitution of the United States.”
Read his article. It’s quite interesting, and I have been saying this shit about Idaho, the crazy cult coot and her preacherman/messiah/baby killer boyfriend, the militia that told me I’m not welcome in Idaho, and the homegrown terrorists in Idaho. Well, someone did the legwork I’m too lazy to do, and here is his conclusion:
“In my personal opinion, this is very concerning. Very few people know the “Zone of Death” exists. And unless Congress acts swiftly to close the loophole, it’ll only be a matter of time before someone (legally) gets away with murder.”
Read his column here.
It’s wild out there in the woods, y’all. And Idaho, you can’t count on me to do your tourism campaign for the year. This year or next. I’m not with any of the program out there. Yellowstone is beautiful, but I’m not feeling the entire vibe out that way.
Has anyone recently lived in Idaho? If so, can you tell me if you saw this?
Yea, no. I’m good. Think I’m leaving it off of the travel list.
Just let me know when…..
My new plan is to put down the shovel, give up on the Mojave, rent a cargo van and search for the Zone Of Death…..
