Remember When That Asshole Writer...
Posted a link to the Suicide Prevention Hotline on a Domestic Violence Annihilator story.
Look, I try to be understanding when it comes to other writers. Really, I do. I’m prone to get in my feelings, and that’s certainly no secret. However, if you’re doing something so fucking ass backward in defense of another man while writing a column, well, I’m just going to call a fucking spade a spade.
The syndicated column this week on The Good Men Project is that column. If you don’t remember, feel free to have a look. I’ve linked it for you because I know how hard it can be to Google all of my bullshit.
So. Fucking. Difficult.
All sarcasm aside, I was madder than a wet hen when I wrote it, and now I’m mad again. You really have to reach for some shit like that. You have a cut and dry case of a male superior abusing and killing his significant other, and you have the fucking audacity to advise suicide prevention assistance? In a profession with domestic violence taking place in nearly half of the relationships this profession is involved in?
Man. Get the fuck out of here.
I’ll have you know I sent that column over to that piece of shit writer and his editor with a little note from your girl, and I have yet to hear back from them. It’s a shame. I looked forward to mopping up the floor with him.
Sigh. I digress.
I don’t care what you do for a living, an abuser is an abuser. You may have a stressful job, but if you cannot handle it, get help or change professions. You don’t go home and beat your partner, kids, or dogs because you can’t handle the stress of your job. It’s just one more fucking excuse.
It’s like I always say at the holidays, “girl, he’s not beating your ass because he has to buy your Daddy a socket set. He’s beating your ass because he’s an abuser.”
He will continue to beat your ass through the new year, probably every second Tuesday in March, and shit ain’t looking good around Flag Day, either. The circumstances and pressures may be different, but an abuser is always going to respond in the same way.
They’re going to abuse you.
And in the case of the woman in the column above, they’re going to kill you and then take their own life to avoid consequences. It’s their last hoorah fuck you.
So, if you’re waiting for the right time to cut and run, this is it. You aren’t doing anyone any favors by getting your ass whipped until Flag Day next year. Believe me, it isn’t going to stop then either.
I mean, it could.
He could kill you.
