Earlier this month, a Texas deputy accessed more than 83,000 license plate reader cameras to verify a Texas woman left the state and had a non-surgical abortion. This was allegedly done at the behest of her family, who were “concerned for her welfare”.

Now is a good time to discuss these license plate reading cameras. You know those cameras on the red lights, toll booths, and other various traffic signs? Yeah. All of those read your plate and track where you go and when.

If you get an agency who wants to know badly enough, much like this abortion sniffing agency, this is the result.

Of course, I’m nearly positive there were no other crimes in the state of Texas that could have been investigated using those man hours. No rapes, murders, child abductions. Nothing actually worth those man hours occurred in Texas in May, apparently.

The waste of time and money to police what a single woman did with her body in a certain time period is appalling. Worse, though, is that it sets a precedent, and not a good one, either.

Don’t be surprised when it happens in your state. I’ve zero delusions about Florida, and I know DeSantis is already foaming at the mouth about this type of shit.

Between his ties to the Assholes with Casseroles and Casey DeSantis’ desire to whitewash everything in the fucking public library, my money says 10 to 1 we’re next.

If you are a woman who is pregnant, I will repeat the lesson one more time. Tell nobody, not even your partner, until the first trimester is done. Don’t think that a miscarriage won’t be prosecuted. There are around 30 women in the US prison system right now who can tell you otherwise.

Continue to buy your feminine products as usual, and make it appear you’re using them.
