It's Fine...Just Let Them Kill Us...
Nobody is coming to help, and those who do help, they pay for it too.
I apologize, I know I’m late, but Meghan brought something to my attention last night and I’ve been working on some exit plans. I don’t know if y’all are aware of this trending hashtag situation occurring because women are being denied restraining orders. They’ve taken to social media giving their information, the names of their abusers, and the law enforcement agencies that won’t help them.
I urge any woman who is in an abusive situation to leave as much of a paper trail as possible without further endangering yourselves. I did it myself when I was being harmed. There is still a story with a photo of me with a broken nose attached to it on Medium to this day. I know what it feels like to be trapped, so make no mistake, you’ll get no judgement here.
I am reaching out to the women in the videos, and it is a very slow process that has led to me being quite emotional tonight. Don’t ask me shit unless it is how you can help me get these women to safety right now. I’m really not with any more dumb shit right now.
But let’s talk for a second about what happens when law enforcement does come to help. In Memphis, a woman had her ex arrested for hurting her. He was released on bond with a no contact order. He came back to hurt her again. She called the cops, the cops said they couldn’t find him. One hour later, she called the cops again, because her new “friend” had shot the ex as the ex attempted to assault the woman and her new guy.
The new guy who shot the ex? Facing involuntary manslaughter charges, which carries 8 years. In Tennessee. How the fuck? Baby we’re a castle doctrine here, you come in my house and feel amphibious, pop off with it, Mr. Salamander, and you’re wearing lead to the coroners office. Of this I swear.
So, let me get this clear. The cops either can’t or won’t help us. If we stand up for ourselves, they arrest us. If our new guy stands up for us they arrest our new guy. So basically, what? Let them kill us?
Yes. Yes. That’s exactly it.
Our punishment for “not being better judges of men”. Even though 40% of cops beat their partners, right. You ever think maybe the agency investigating the domestic violence ought to have some goddamned oversight. Where are the feds on this?
Probably reading my very heated fucking email, that’s where. We’re tired. We’re tired of being beaten and murdered. We’re tired of the cops acting like we’re in the wrong for calling for help.
We need big government, and I’ve never uttered those words a day in my life. I think we need someone to actually respond and protect a woman, instead of this sick ass excuse we get now. Women like Abigail Bieber, who was known to respond to crime scenes and urge DV victims to leave, herself a victim of DV, shot dead by her cop boyfriend.
Y’all know what? I’m tired. I’m tired of blindly reaching my hand out to try to save women when we have no help and no recourse on the back end. These motherfuckers are going to make me start researching how to get laws changed, and I swear on God, if I have to learn that boring shit, someone is going to get what they have coming.
What a bunch of gift wrapped taints
Holy shit you would be the cops' biggest nightmare if you passed a bar exam.
