If I See One More "Why Is He Still Paying For..." Question...
I may seriously lose my shit with someone.
What in the actual fuck is going on with all of these “all I can do is heat chicken nuggets and take selfies” bitches out here? It’s become the real pandemic, that’s the God’s honest.
Listen, the next time a woman tells me she is a stay at home mother, but her kids have either a) not been born yet, or b) left home 5 years ago, I may very well need to tell someone what I think of them. If you are an able-bodied woman, and you don’t work or go to school, I need you to write in to me and tell me one thing; why?
There has never, not since I was 14, been a period in my life where I didn’t have an income of some sort. That was my own damned money, coming right to me, not something I needed to ask a boyfriend or husband for, or in the form of a support or alimony check.
I really thought that with the comeback of the intelligent woman, these chics who have nothing happening in their lives resembling careers would have phased themselves out by now. Yet, with the number of “Dear Ms. Macon, why is he still paying for xyz” questions posed, I’m beginning to think that we may never leave this unattractive look in the past.
Ladies, look, we’re no different than these guys out here, okay? If I sit here and call a Fuckboy out for eating up all the Lucky Charms, and drinking all the baby’s Juicy Juice up it’s funny, but if it’s one of us, it’s okay? No, bitch, no. That’s absolutely the wrong answer.
Are you happy being a Fuckgirl? Because there’s no doubt about it, that’s the label that’s being applied, and I feel it’s rightfully so. Do you not have a dream, a goal, a thought about what your future might look like? Or are you simply happy sitting to the house watching daytime television?
I don’t care if you’re coloring hair, running a country, or running a daycare, you need to have something of your own that defines who you are as a person, career-wise. There is a reason that people are drawn to certain fields, or a specific area of study. It’s what stimulates your mind, keeps your wheels turning.
Myself, I loved industrial engineering. I thoroughly enjoy writing about it. I also enjoy writing about everything else under the sun, because writing has always been my one true love. I simply managed to marry the two and call it a job.
You have to have your own passion in life, your own area of interest, hopefully one that pays you a little stipend you can have jingling around in your Dickies. If not, you had better get yourself a side hustle, Etsy shop, some shit. Y’all out here fucking around, getting everyone involved in your lives with your “why is he still paying for blah blah” drama, and it’s disgusting.
Girl, get some pride and some love for yourself. Do your own, get your own, live your own. We’re better than this other shit. You have to actually do the work behind being better than something, though. Just because he will support you, doesn’t mean he should be.
Damn. Seriously.
To be fair.. I can't blame them. I would love to be supported in the style to which I'd like to become accustomed. *chortle!*
I just don't know that I'd be willing to trade anything off for that, though I'm an outstanding cook and handy all around guy who would make an excellent househusband.
