What the fuck is up, Bitchfaces?! Baby Jesus in a manger, though.
Okay, so Puffin and I have no fence, however, my neighbor out back had a whole damned tree go through his bedroom ceiling, so…really just gonna shut the fuck up about all that piddly ass fence.
The worst part, of course, no power for 3 days. Let me tell y’all, your girl needs her blow dryer and hot coffee, lest y’all see what a complete and total Bitchface I really am. Thank ya, Jesus, I have both of those things now, and life has become exponentially better since their return.
My sweet little Puffin, this was her first big one, so she just laid there shivering, and I told her “let momma hold you like a baby, everything will be fine”. So, that’s how we pulled through the last 4 hours or so, when the wind was so bad it took the plywood off of 3 of the windows.
We were good though, I have enough damned water to float my boat, y’all boat, and some more fucking folk boat. Anyway, that’s the update. I’m glad my Florida Bitchfaces checked in, happy we all made it to the other side. It was a wild one. In my drinking days, I would have been riding a fucking Igloo, so let’s thank Baby Jesus we ain’t doing all that anymore.
Anyway, love y’all. I’m finna go blow dry my damned hair.
Q
Color me so very damn glad y'all made it through the shit in one piece.. even though that poor fence didn't make it.
In other brighter news, I did my final day at the old corporatist turd fire fluster cluck on Friday, and after a few ^excessively polite^ but very harsh words with the HR person (they weren't going to pay out my PTO from last year, claiming it was "excessive") Y'all will be happy to know that I, in Right and Proper Bitchface Form, chose violence.
Here's part of the letter I sent the HR Director:
Ps: ORS = Oregon Revised Statutes or Tha LAW in these her parts..
>"Dear Lisa *AKA: HR Gal*
You are hereby notified that I am asserting, under the definitions provided by ORS 652.210, that the unpaid 32.4667 hours of what Troon calls "PTO Carry" are in point of fact, and in point of Law, actual wages under ORS 652.210 and 652.150.
>
> The amount remaining owed to me and unpaid to me is 32.4667 * 36.06 = $1170.749
>
> The above cited law specifically identifies fringe benefits, such as PTO, as being "wages" for the purposes of Oregon Employment Law regarding pay checks, discrimination, and (I will assert) final pay checks. Since PTO, in any form, absolutely is (legally) a Fringe Benefit under this law, it is under this law also classified as being "Wages."
>
> You are also hereby notified that Troon's liability for non-payment of the $1170.749 owed me under ORS 652.150 is the continuation of regular wages at 8 hours per day until the shortage is paid in full, or to a penalty payment of 100% of the late paid wages IF I am paid within 5 working days.
>
> I am demanding immediate payment (no later than Friday, October 8, 2022) for those hours. I am also asserting that Troon is now in prima facia and willful violation of Oregon law on final pay checks.
> This is due to the fact that you specifically told me that "Troon Policy is to not pay out "PTO Carry" hours."
>
> This statement of what you represent to be Troon Policy makes the refusal to pay "Carry PTO" hours what would otherwise be a simple violation of ORS 652.150 into a willful violation under that law; with all the available remedies to me which that implies under other sections of ORS.
>
> If I am paid the $1170.75, in full, by Monday, October 3, 2022, at noon, I will forego any action in court for Troon's now willful violation of ORS 652.150.
Inside of half an hour, on a Saturday no less, I had myself a response from the HR gal that tha Company had told her Friday that I could be paid out those hours and would see the money in my account "next week."
I swear April, I was flat snort giggling for a full hour this afternoon imagining HR gal getting my email, having her own little Come To Jesus Meeting before forwarding it to Legal to watch their buttholes pucker severely... And THEN responding to me that I would be paid out, even though that was the exact opposite of what she told me yesterday afternoon (Friday).
The best part is that all of this went down in less than half an hour.. on A SATURDAY so y'all know heads were knocking hard over note pads during that half hour.
Be well, and enjoy the giggles caused by seeing corporate Turdwookies trying to steal from employees getting kicked in the 'nads for their Shenanigans by a fellow Bitchface!
For The Record: Any of my fellow Bitchfaces who are choosing violence with corporate Turdwookies in Oregon around PTO payouts are more than welcome to steal my (attorney approved) verbiage to beat said corporate Turdwookies about the head and shoulders with.
With my blessings and no credit nor payment desired.
GIT EM!!
Fortitude and Cussedness has served you well once again 😁
I bought a generator a few years ago and used it twice ( for a few hours each time) .. that changed in Feb when the 1st major flood hit my area hard.. I was able to avoid being evacuated because I had power and sandbags fences 3 metres high.. I have 7 cats.. that's and evacuation nightmare ! 😂
When the flood subsided..I thought ' the generator can rest for another year or two ' .. but 3 months later.. yep another major flood..
Moral of my raving on is... consider getting a generator.. Puffin will worship you for it.. 😉
